Who’s Who

Minister - Rev Colin A M Sinclair

Colin began his relationship with Palmerston Place Church as an Assistant Minister before moving to Newton on Ayr Parish Church in the 1980s. He was General Director of Scripture Union Scotland from 1988 to 1996 before returning to Palmerston Place, where he now leads the congregation in worship and teaching.

Pastoral Assistant - Rev Willie-John Macdonald

Willie-John New

Willie-John became our Pastoral Assistant on 1st October 2006. He began his ministry as a lay missionary and then had parishes first in Newbattle and then in Gairloch. He saw considerable blessing during his ministry in Gairloch and many visitors on holiday enjoyed their Summer Services there. His final ministry was in helping new congregations develop throughout Scotland. When they moved to Edinburgh a number of years ago, Willie-John and his wife Jessie made their home in our church, and both have been active in the congregation in a whole variety of ways. Willie-John also serves as a General Trustee of our denomination and preaches in various churches from time to time as well as in our own congregation.

Director of Music - Andrew Caskie

Andrew has been Director of Music at Palmerston Place Church since 2003 and can usually be found either playing the organ, conducting the choir, or playing the piano with the praise band. When not doing any of the above he works in the engineering sector.

Church Officers - David & Eileen McColl

David and Eileen McColl

David and Eileen McColl arrived at Palmerston Place Church from Glasgow in 1987. Their work as Church Officers involves a wide variety of duties, from ensuring the smooth running of the services on a Sunday to taking care of the bookings and events which take place both in the church and Annan House.

Youth Work Leader - Norma Rolls

Although she was born in the parish, Norma had no connection with Palmerston Place Church until she came to live and work in Edinburgh in 1992. Initially her responsibility for The Mary Erskine School meant that she was only an ‘attender’ on a Sunday morning. Having swapped MES for ICT at the Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools (until August 2006), she has taken on the oversight of all our Sunday morning groups for children and young folk. If you would like to know more about our activities or would be willing to help then please speak to Norma on a Sunday morning.
