The Paschal candle, lit from the fire, was followed into the dark cathedral where the traditional words were chanted: The light of Christ. Thanks be to God. After the service, breakfast in the Chapter House (coffee, tea, hot cross buns and croissants} and time to chat.

Easter Day and some of the flowers that greeted the congregation at the morning service. The flowers were also there to be enjoyed later by and to those who’d specially appreciate them.

The BIG Event has something for everyone, whatever your age, and we’d love to see you there. We all have a part to play in helping our church to grow.

* Come and find out more about Palmerston Place, our building and people. *
* Hear what our church teams are working on. *
* Share your thoughts and ideas – we want to hear what you think. *
* Think about your gifts and how they can be put to even better use. *
* Kids – come and build a church (yes, really!). *

Session teams. The church sanctuary and vestibule will be set up with stands to allow members of the congregation to explore the work of each of the session teams and see how this supports the life of our church.

Gifts identification space. The Job Centre area will hopefully have lots of job adverts giving examples of ways that people can get involved and share in the life of Palmerston Place. In the same place we will have a method of gifts identification which will be available for anyone who wants to explore more about the ways in which God has equipped us as individuals to live and serve in His church.

Prayer/reflection space. The Lothian Room in the vestibule will be set up as space for prayer and reflection. This will be a quieter space to allow people to take a break from the buzz of the main sanctuary and listen and talk to God. This will include traditional and contemporary ways of praying and reflecting.
