Organ

The fine organ at Palmerston Place was built in 1992 by the Wells-Kennedy Partnership, Lisburn. Besides leading our praise each week, recitals are held regularly – see main music page for more details. The organ is also used regularly for teaching and practice, classes in the Edinburgh Organ Academy and meetings of the Edinburgh Society of Organists.

The organ is featured in a magnificent new book – Organs of Edinburgh, published by the Edinburgh Society of Organists and Delphian Records Ltd. The full-colour hardback book includes 22 pipe organs in and around Edinburgh, and comes with four CDs of brand new recordings of each instrument. At Palmerston Place Church, Director of Music Andrew Caskie plays Buxtehude’s Toccata in F BuxWV 157, George Baker’s Berceuse Paraphrase and Fanfare by William Mathias. Details of the book and an online order form are found here.
